Color Prints

6 September, 2008 (16:20)

Well, with all the color printing / work I’ve been doing - I’m going to put up a color gallery with prints for sale.  I think I have about 25 good ones.  I have no idea if there’ll be any interest in them but we’ll see.  I printed this one on the Epson F paper at 12 x 18.  Hey, not bad.

I like it.
So how does it feel to move to color? Don’t hesitate. The color and IR photos you have posted look great.

I don’t have the same sense of immediate recognition about how to treat the color photograph. Sure, I can turn out a naturalistic image pretty easily, but to make an expressive image — I don’t have a tonal guide as I did with b&w (the old masters). I go back to impressionist, expressionist - well - mostly a variety of painters for an idea about how to go approach color.

But, it is more fascinating to me right now than b&w because it is a new adventure.

Great shot, love the images taken at night, that always gives it an extra something.
