As far as inkjet papers go, I've decided to use Ilford Smooth Pearl & Smooth Gloss. Both work well with 2200 photo black. Every once in a while, I'll have to change to matte black when I print on the Hahnemuhle Photorag. It seems to me that the people shots tend to look better on the Gloss, and landscapes, abstracts - look better on the Smooth Pearl.

Whether the photos were "put through Photoshop" - at this point, if it is something new, it's has been run through Photoshop. Whether the image is composed of a series of images or not - almost all of them are these days. In fact I walk around the streets sometimes just taking pictures of items that I think I can use in some future picture. I'm becoming a sort of digital trash collector. For example, this morning, on my way to Adorama for the paper - I saw some "low hydrants," i.e. that I could shoot straight down at, and I was muttering to myself - man, this is the place for low hydrants all right. Wow, there's another one.

And then I found this shopping bag which had been torn apart, and I began taking pictures of the pieces, thinking that at some point I would try to put the pieces back together. I'm just going to call this the mosaic phase.

When I was younger, I knew a couple of artists, and I thought they were a little bit touched in the head. Well, now I know how it happens.

Wow, look at that window, almost like a tic-tac-toe grid. Wonder what would happen if I put some images into the square and scaled them properly - some from the outside and some from an interior. What would the eye make of it?
