Jupiter and Beyond

The monolith landed on 84th street and began to emit a weird screech.  The mirrors went circular on me, and the garage doors locked up tight.  Somewhere beyond the reflected reflections I saw myself in a yellow jacket although it wasn't raining yet, though we all knew it would rain the following day.

Huh?

That's free association man.  Like the jazz I've been listening to all day.  Just riffing.

Well stick to some titles that make sense at least.  Willya?  Jupiter and Beyond?  2001?  What's that gotta do with anything?

Hey - you figure it out.  I'm just writing it, ya know.

Darkroom

Having nothing better to toss up into the always hungry blog: here's what my current daylight darkroom looks like.  I threw a little bit of gauze over the lens since it is such a boring shot and then hit it with some sepia tinting.

As far as the t.v. being gone - it is still acting like a phantom limb.  I found myself returning to the house and reaching for the remote control, though there is no t.v. for it to work on.  Fortunately, my radio has a remote control so I spent a fair amount of time pressing that and changing radio stations.  Well, that's day one sans t.v.  If you find some middle-aged guy standing outside the appliance store staring at the t.v.s, that might be me.    It was certainly a larger part of my life that I was willing to cop to.  However, it is slowly being replaced by NPR, KCR, FUV, opera, jazz, blues, and one very strange bit of new-age music which immediately put the cat to sleep.  I kid you not.  I put this station on that was playing wind blowing and tinkling sounds and the cat walked up to the speakers, stared at them for a minute and then rolled onto his back.  I thought he might be dead.  But he was fast asleep with his legs practically up in the air.  So I guess that will be Buddy's station.

As far as the election goes - I have decided not to become an expatriate - at least not in France as I'm thinking there is a chance the president, now that he has a mandate, may decide to invade France.
