I took some large paper and cut it down to 8.5 inches by 14 inches and fed it through the HP 7960.  Not a big problem.  I had to take the feeding tray off and guide it through and guide it out - but even that may not be necessary.  HP does make 11 x 17 (size B) Premium Plus Gloss Paper.  I have seen it on line at a few stores and am going to try and get some tomorrow.  So that will allow me to print 8 x 12 prints on the HP.  Not bad.

I still haven't been able to figure out whether the larger DesignJet printers use the same 3-shades of gray black ink as the 7960.  If they do - wow.  That would be great.

Barstool Seat in Rain

And when I say "seat" I mean seat.  The legs were gone.  And as usual, when I stooped to take this, several people stopped as well to see what the heck I was doing - always a good sign.

When I wake up - I usually check in with some web site to find out if a) anything has happened, terrorist-wise overnight in NYC and b) whether they (whoever they are) think something is going to happen in NYC.  But I haven't been able to find a website that is dedicated to news about NYC and terrorism.  So I put the link on the left which does a Google Search in the News for New York and Terrorism and that seems to give me some idea of what's going on.

If you go and search NYC government sites for info about what's going on - all in one place - well, I couldn't find it.  One of the things I would like to know is this: is there any sort of siren system in the city to alert you if something has happened in case the electricity goes out?  You know, like in WWII?

In other words, suppose there is some massive attack in the middle of the night downtown - am I just going to sleep through it?  What I'm writing here is not about fear - it's just about a feeling of general incompetence and lack of trust in our local government to do anything intelligent.  I sometimes just don't get it.  If we are at war - if we are going to be attacked - how about one web page somewhere that you could print out that would tell you where you could get uncontaminated water in case of an attack?
