Exposion Injures Officer In Times Square Subway Station

In most versions, a knapsack was filled with firecrackers, set on fire, and a transit cop was injured when it exploded.  The second version, which I heard on the local t.v. news and in the Post, said the knapsack was filled with gunpowder and BB pellets.  Both versions insisted that this was not a terrorist attack. (Yeah, right).

"Joe Barbone, 34, who manages Stiletto, a strip club nearby on Eighth Ave., said, 'I heard the boom and I figured I should call home to say goodbye.'" - Daily News

"The knapsack contained a pipe bomb containing gunpowder, BBs and a fuse, a law-enforcement source told The Post." - NY Post

"Scores of heavily armed police officers trained in anti-terrorism tactics and hundreds of other officers sealed off parts of the surrounding streets." - Newsday

Reflection with Dragonfly (Central Park)
