I am a little too bleary-eyed right now to say anything about the anti-same-sex marriage amendment other than: "Pfui" but I will note one thing regarding President Bush's remarks:
"If we are to prevent the meaning of marriage from being changed forever, our nation must enact a constitutional amendment to protect marriage in America. Decisive and democratic action is needed, because attempts to redefine marriage in a single state or city could have serious consequences throughout the country."
Yeah, right. Didn't this fella ever hear of the Supreme Court for settling this type of stuff?
In other words, this is a pre-emptive strike. Sound familiar?
And the whole thing about marriage being between a man and a woman in all major religions: uh -- did he forget the religions that say between a man and as many women as he can afford?
Pfui. I'll stick to the catalogue process which is just tiring...
