I'm now getting about 250 spams a day, and that is with all filters at the ISP and with my own filters. I'm starting to think the only way out of this is to ask people to put a secret word in the subject when they email me. A lot of the new ones are probably the SoBig worm. I don't know since I don't open them but they all say something to the effect that: they are are in 7-bit binary format and can't be displayed.
Anyway, I was at a party last night where I shot color 800 film again, and I was told that the room would be well lit, but I brought flash and was glad I did. It was true, the walls were well-lit -- lots of track lighting, but not the people in the room. Even shooting at 800 with an f1.4 lens, I needed the flash. Phew. Glad to have it.
It was a surprise birthday party where we waited in the dark for the birthday personage to arrive, and was all very funny -- like something from a Mary Tyler Moore bad party episode. I had told everyone, desparately -- please turn on the lights as soon as they come in -- turn them on!
But no one really gave a hoot about that, and each light was on a separate switch anyway. So flash away.
After going through a lot of the old color photographs, I seem to be back into shooting color again. It's the old sherbert between main courses theory. Gets me going again for the main b&w course I think.
