As fun as it was to visit Grant's Tomb today - trying to do a mosaic without being able to go back and forth easily - I'm not bright enough to do that.  I came back and began to piece something together and after a few hours there was so much missing.  The divider in Central Park was easy enough to get to, but I don't think I'm going to continue with Grant's Tomb, and besides - it really isn't the subject that matters all that much with the mosaics.  It's having some sort of idea about how to approach the ordinary stuff.  Well, at any rate, orders have continued to come in - mostly for the old darkroom stuff - but a couple for digital prints as well and some inquiries into when the first mosaics would be ready for sale.

That I don't know, as I haven't attempted a big print yet.  I'm still trying to decide on the paper.  I think I like the mat paper better for the mosaics - I'm a little nervous about switching from the mat ink to the photo ink too often.  Do you think that's a problem with the 2200?  Switching back and forth a couple of times a day?  I don't think that's a good idea... but have no reason to think so other than that thing you call a hunch.

Lake In Fog

I went out this morning to the west side, in a severe fog - the city - not me. I did a mosaic of Grant's Tomb - but on the way back - there was this shot that I couldn't resist.

The composition was somewhat forced because there were these damned cones all over the place that are going to be used in the Gates Project - they would have been in the foreground. Other than that, nothing fancy - expose for the fog - 50mm lens at f4.0 Anyone could do it. And there's even a duck about to take off.

I should look at a map of Central Park and find out the name of this lake (it is by the Nature Exploratory Building) near 116th street...
