I'm busy preparing for my show at the Met (ha, ha). I mean outside the Met. This is the time, and this is the right season and I've shown a bunch of things I've printed to friends, neighbors etc. and they all think I'm on the right track -- and should be able to get $20 each easily (5 x 7 print on 8 x 10 mat).
Everyone has some different idea -- such as - why don't you bring a laptop with your images for people to browse through?
Why don't you bring your camera and do portraits?
Why don't you sell your CD's there as well. Make sure to bring nice cards to give out. Etc.
Mostly bad ideas. The idea is to sell small prints and sell them quickly and simply.
On the inkjet front, I'm also following the progress of the Epson 4000 - which is not available yet, but is more, at least as far as the price and features go -- of a "professional" printer. I've decided not to invest in a CIS system for the time being - as I may end up going with this higher end printer eventually (I could actually print 16 x 20's with it easily).
