My Room, 1636 University Avenue

We were experts about roaches. I remember sitting in the obstetricians office with my younger sister Jean, surrounded by a bunch of pregnant ladies. I was about seven and my sister was five. One of the ladies saw a roach crawling up the wall of the waiting room. Somebody shrieked. Instantly, like a cat, my five year old sister picked up a magazine and swatted the roach, squishing it on the wall. It fell to the floor, and she sat down with a great bravado."You see, " she said, "that's how we do it at home".

I offer several Bronx photographs as Note Cards here
